We're ONE WEEK away, people! One week away from my favorite holiday of the whole year: Thanksgiving! While it's a good goal to practice being thankful throughout the whole year, it's always around this time when I start thinking about the things I'm thankful for. It's a time of reflection over the whole year, and picking out those moments that most stick out in your mind, and praising the Lord for them. I don't know what your Thanksgiving Day/week looks like, but I just wanted to encourage you, that in the midst of the family time, Thanksgiving dinner, and the days leading up to the holiday, to slip away by yourself. Take a notebook along with you, if you prefer journaling your thoughts. Think about the things you are grateful for that happened this year, last year, or whenever! Just take a moment to breathe in the atmosphere and be filled with gratitude toward God for His abundant blessings. Jot down things you are thankful for. This year, my sister and I are doing a challenge to write down 7 things we are thankful for every day of the month of November. It's hard to commit to, I know, but it really does help you look back over your day, your week, your year, and see God's faithfulness in sustaining you and helping you through each and every day. Now that's something to be thankful for! ;) Enjoy some throwback photos of fall fun and Thanksgiving weekends gone by! Priceless memories that I'll be thankful for, for a long time to come. :)
"It is a good thing to give thanks unto the LORD, and to sing praises unto thy name, O most High. . ." (Psalm 92:1) Happy Thanksgiving!

This month has my one of my favorite holidays in it--Thanksgiving! It's usually around this time that I start thinking more about gratitude and about all the blessings the Lord has given to us throughout the past year(s). So, today's post is rather simple but meaningful, too! I'll be sharing just a few of the things I'm thankful for this year, in no particular order. Here we go! My Family One of the highlights of the year was July 20, 2021 when we added another sister to our family! She's happy and healthy and is growing so fast! She gets endless attention, too. Being in a big family is awesome! There's never a dull moment and there's usually lots of laughter and fun during the holidays. They're the best! :) Spiritual Growth There are so many things I've gleaned from reading the Bible this year. Above all, that our God is faithful and He is right there with us in every wonderful and difficult season we pass through. He is amazing, the more I get to know Him. Creation I've witnessed some beautiful sunrises and sunsets this past summer and autumn. I never realized before, but in observing the sunsets, I've noticed every one of them is different. There are no two alike, just like other things in creation. Every time I see one of these glorious shows, I'm reminded of Psalm 113:3. :) The Montrose Christian Writer's Conference! This past summer, I was so blessed to be able to attend the 32nd annual Montrose Christian Writer's Conference! I learned a lot from the vast array of authors and editors who came and was encouraged to keep on writing for the Lord. Sometimes, it's hard to write when discouragement or doubt hits, so this was a good place to send those thoughts out the door! ;) Books
Fiction and non-fiction alike, I've learned some helpful life and spiritual lessons from these dedicated authors. Even more, the authors themselves are wonderful testimonies to imitate and learn from as I seek publication in the future. :) What about you? What are some things you are thankful for this year? I'd love it if you would share some of them with me in the comments! |
