"Choose mercy. Always choose mercy." If I were to choose a quote to encapsulate this story, it would be the one you just read, quoted by one of the characters, toward the end of this story. King Arthur, pirate treasure, mercy and divine justice mingling, romance, a strong faith thread--what's not to love about this book? It was such a delight to read this novel. The characters (looking at you, Bram) were entertaining, and so sweet but you do have to look past their grouchy exterior to see the real heart aflame for chivalry. I loved discovering that about the hero! And the setting, well, who doesn't love a tropical island setting? I have never been to the Isles of Scilly, but this book (and series) made me want to visit there one day. The faith thread was one that made me contemplate the mingling of mercy alongside divine justice, much like Bram did in this tale. It was beautifully woven and brought to a satisfying conclusion. Although, I do have to admit, it was sad ending this wonderful series. Thank you, Roseanna, for once again speaking truth through the story God gave you. :) P.S. If you love historical fiction, pirate treasure, romance, faith threads or any of the features listed above, then I heartily recommend "The Secrets of the Isles" series by Roseanna M. White. They're perfect Christmas gifts for the avid readers in your life. ;)
